Aveno Better Product List

Privacy Policy

How Aveno Apps handles information when Shopify merchants install and use Better Product List.

Effective August 28, 2026

On this page Scope Information we handle How we use it Service providers Retention and deletion Your rights Security Contact

1. Scope and our role

This Privacy Policy applies to Aveno Better Product List (the “App”) and the related Aveno Apps website and support communications.

When the App processes store information so that it can provide its features, Aveno Apps acts as a service provider or processor for the Shopify merchant. The merchant remains responsible for its store and for deciding how its authorized users use the App. For website visits and direct support communications, Aveno Apps determines the limited processing described below.

The App is read-only. It reads product and inventory information to display a more useful product list. It does not edit products, duplicate the merchant’s product catalog, or access Shopify customer records.

2. Information we handle

Shop and authorization data

When a merchant installs the App, we receive information needed to authenticate the shop and keep the embedded app session working, such as the Shopify shop identifier, installation and access credentials, and session information.

Product and inventory data

The App requests read-only access to product and inventory data made available through Shopify, which may include product titles, variants, status, vendor, product type, tags, price, compare-at price, cost, SKU, barcode, and inventory quantities. This information is fetched to provide the product-list experience and is not used to build advertising profiles.

App configuration and account state

We store the settings needed to provide the App, including saved views, selected columns, filters, sorting preferences, plan or billing status, and other feature configuration tied to the shop.

Support and operational information

If you contact us, we receive the information you include in your message. We also keep limited operational logs needed to secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the App. Logs may include timestamps, app events, error details, a shop identifier, and technical request metadata.

Information we do not access

The App does not request or access Shopify customer records, order customer details, payment card data, or the content of customer communications.

3. How we use information

We use the information above only as reasonably necessary to:

  • authenticate the merchant’s shop and provide the embedded App;
  • retrieve and display current product and inventory information;
  • save views, settings, preferences, and billing state;
  • provide support and respond to merchant requests;
  • monitor reliability, investigate errors, prevent misuse, and protect the App; and
  • comply with applicable law and enforce our Terms of Service.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use store data for behavioral advertising, and we do not share it with data brokers.

4. Shopify, hosting, and subprocessors

The App depends on Shopify to authorize installations, provide product and inventory data through the Shopify Admin API, and administer app billing. Shopify processes information under its own terms and privacy practices.

We may use carefully selected service providers for cloud hosting, managed databases, security, error monitoring, and operational logging. They may process app data only to provide services to Aveno Apps, under confidentiality and data-protection obligations, and not for their own advertising purposes.

A current list of these service providers and information about processing locations is available on request at hello@avenoapps.com. Information may be processed in countries where Aveno Apps or its service providers operate, with safeguards required by applicable law.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights or safety, or as part of a business transaction subject to appropriate confidentiality protections. We do not otherwise disclose merchant store data except at the merchant’s direction.

5. Storage, retention, and deletion

App data is stored using systems appropriate for operating an online Shopify app. We keep shop sessions, settings, saved views, and billing status while the App is installed and for only as long afterward as needed to complete deletion, handle a support or billing matter, meet legal obligations, or protect the service.

When a merchant uninstalls the App, access to Shopify data ends. We delete or anonymize active App records associated with the shop within a reasonable period, normally within 30 days. Limited information may remain longer in rolling backups, security or error logs, or records we must keep for legal, fraud-prevention, or accounting purposes; those records are isolated from ordinary use and removed when their retention period ends.

A merchant may request deletion at any time by emailing hello@avenoapps.com. We may ask for reasonable verification that the requester is authorized to act for the shop.

6. Merchant and individual rights

Depending on location and applicable law, merchants and individuals may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information, and to withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing.

For information controlled by a Shopify merchant, contact that merchant first. We will assist the merchant with verified requests as required. For information Aveno Apps controls directly, contact us using the address below. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect App data. These include limiting access to people and systems that need it, protecting credentials, using secure communications, maintaining operational monitoring, and reviewing service-provider access.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Merchants should protect their Shopify accounts, use appropriate access controls, and contact us promptly if they suspect unauthorized use of the App.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. If a change materially affects how we handle App data, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
